Facebook Password Recovery Using Computer

First, log on to the Facebook website
www.facebook.com on your computer.

This takes you to the facebook login page,
Click on the “forgot
password”
button below the password text box. This takes you to a page with the heading “find your account”.

Enter the email address or phone number of your
Facebook account in the text box on the page and click on the “search”
button on the email or phone number text box.

This will search for your account. You will be
shown a page for you to select options to reset your account, the options are:
o Send
code via email –
this sends a six-digit code to the email address associated with your Facebook
o Send
code via SMS –
this sends a six-digit code to your mobile phone number(associated with your
email)
o Use
my google account- this connects your account to google account without having
to go through the code reset process.

Once you’ve
selected your account reset option, click on the send button at the bottom of the right corner of the page.

Email or text message will be sent to you. A window will show up asking you to log in to your google account if you choose
the google account method. Enter the code sent to your email or phone number in
the “enter code” box
then click on continue.

You can skip this step if you used google
account method in resetting your password. This takes you to a page where you
will enter a new password of your choice;

Enter the new password in the “new password”
field. This will now be the password you will be using to log in to your
account on any device. Click on the “Continue” icon. This will save the password changes you
made. You can now log in to your account anywhere and anytime.
Facebook Password Recovery Using Facebook Mobile App

Open the Facebook app on your device.
·
On the menu that shows up tap “forgot password”
icon.

This takes you to the facebook password reset
page, enter the email address or phone number in the “search yourself”
text box.

You can search by your name if you cannot
remember your email or phone number on your facebook. Tap the search button
below the text box; this will prompt Facebook to search and locate your
account.

Tap one of the options to recover the account
on the page, that shows up on your screen. if you searched for your name tap,
this is me which is to the right of your profile. You will be given just two
options for account recovery.
o Send
code via email- this sends a reset code to the email associated to your account
o Send
code via SMS –
this sends a reset code to the phone number to the phone number associated with
your account

Tap the “continue
” icon below the password
recovery option.

This prompts Facebook to send you a reset code
to your email or phone number. Then, Facebook will display a page where you
will enter the code.

Retrieve the code from your email or phone and
enter it in the “enter
your six-digit code”
field. Submit the code by tapping the continue icon; this leads you to where
you will create a new password. Enter a new password in the text box provided in
the page and tap “cont

Doing so will replace the old password with the new one. You can now Login
using the new password.
It's
important to use a strong password that cannot be hacked easily but will easy
enough for you to remember.
